George Gregory Hobbs, Highland Park |
The sanctuary of Highland Park Presbyterian Church is a warm, rich and appropriate environment for the making of great music. Designed in the Neo-Gothic style by renowned Dallas architect Mark Lemmon, the architecture and soaring space of the sanctuary inspire glorious music in the same way they have inspired profound worship for many decades. The façade of the 95-rank Casavant Frères pipe organ provides a majestic backdrop for worship and artistic expression. The church's stained glass windows are a visual feast, telling the story of the gospel beginning with Old Testament prophecy, highlighting the life and ministry of Christ, and continuing into modern times with commemoration of reformers and missionaries of note.
Wynne Chapel, located on the McFarlin Boulevard side of the church campus, provides a more intimate space with acoustics that offer immediacy and immersion in the music, making it the perfect setting for chamber concerts. Lined on one side with stained glass windows that depict the Beatitudes, Wynne Chapel is also home to HPPC's acclaimed Schoenstein pipe organ, which is featured in several recitals each year.
