This evening highlights one of the great gems of the Highlander Concert Series, the Highland Park Orchestra, in an all-Mozart concert. Included is the Violin Concert No. 5 "Turkish", featuring Gary Levinson performing on the famous Stradivarius violin. Exsultate, jubilate, performed in its entirety and feauring soprano Niki Hobbs, is well-known by Mozart lovers for its brilliant Alleluia. The fantastic balance between austerity and jubilance contained in the works of Mozart are nowhere better presented than in his late Symphony No. 40 in G minor - no better way to end a Mozart concert!
